Historica Clothiers creates historically inspired garments. Coats are their specialty, and much to my delight, everything they make has a pocket. Even women’s waistcoats. This was their initial product launch website. I filled it full of texture, but kept it elegantly simple with a limited color palette of red, black, and beige. A few spare decorative elements evoke the feel of a time when everything was carved and detailed, yet it was not too busy for a contemporary audience acclimated to sparse, modern layouts.
In this project I had a little more development to do than I usual. I wrestled with their ornery shopping cart system to build a site that felt expansive for a small line of eight coats.
