Hidden In Plain Sight
“Amdur digs deep into the past, showing the complexity of human strength, its adaptation to varying lifestyles, and the nature of physical culture pursued for martial ends.“ —Freelance Academy Press
In this third book laid out for Ellis Amdur, I continued with the basic design established in Old School, and used in Dueling With O-Sensei, so all three have a relationship with one another. This style has become part of the branding of an Amdur book: designed for western audiences, but paying homage to the aesthetics of the subject matter.
This cover is the author’s favorite, of the three we worked on together. The imagery represents a tengu - a crow spirit that can teach the hidden secrets of martial arts. It’s also a trickster, and a perfect mascot for the contents of this book.
